З 12 березня 2020 року в Україні запроваджується тритижневий карантин. Відповідне рішення Уряд ухвалив 11 березня 2020 року.
Карантин триватиме три тижні – з 12 березня до 3 квітня 2020 року.
Терміни карантину можуть змінитись в залежності від епідеміологічної ситуації в Україні.
Під час карантину забороняється проведення лекцій в НДІ "МАО".

| Конкурс проектів наукових робіт для молодих вчених |

Згідно з наказами МОН України №932 від 04.07.2019 та №1287 від 14.12.2015, проведено перший етап конкурсу проектів наукових робіт та науково-технічних розробок для молодих вчених. До другого етапу конкурсу пройшов проект під назвою: "Визначення фізичних характеристик об’єктів навколоземного космічного простору за допомогою двоканального фотометра на основі дихроїчних фільтрів".

On May 16, 2018, the Observatory holds an Open House Day devoted to the All-Ukrainian Science Festival.
Time to visit the Observatory is from 10-00 to 17-00.
The Open House Day program takes about one hour of your time, and includes the following activities:

review of a short popular science film on astronomy,

acquaintance with active and historical telescopes.
We invite you to visit the observatory and to expand your scientific knowledge.

| Geostationary satellites |

Radio interferometric network for tracking of geostationary telecommunication satellites (GTS).
The network can be used to monitor the technological maneuvers of GTS, to detect the facts of their collision with space debris, to clarify a model of moving objects in geostationary orbits.

International scientific conference titled "Actual questions of ground-based observational astronomy", dedicated to the 195th anniversary of Mykolaiv Astronomical Observatory (MAO), was held at RI "MAO" on September 26-29, 2016. The conference was attended by over 50 experts from 13 institutions and astronomical observatories of Ukraine, Latvia, Slovakia and China. Among the participants were also 15 young scientists.
